The 5k/10k run will take place in the Village of Ocracoke through historic neighborhoods, down historic Howard's Street, by Ocracoke Harbor, and by the 2nd oldest lighthouse in the United States in continuous service. The course is basically flat. Howard's Street is a dirt road and this short portion of the course is similar to trail running. The 10K is a double loop.

The start and finish line will be located near 1718 Brewer. You will start running north on the multipurpose trail that leads to the campground for the first half of the course. The second half of the course takes you through the village of Ocracoke. You will run past historic markers such as The Ocracoke Lighthouse and Historic Howard Street. With the new course layout, you will also run past the British Cemetery. This small cemetery, its grounds kept beautifully landscaped and manicured by the U.S. Coast Guard, perpetually flies a British flag provided each year by England. Each May, the USCG and representatives from the British and Canadian Royal Navies hold a ceremony to honor the sailors.
